    Re: A-rod to opt out...

he isnt going back to the yankees.......he isnt going to the mets

ATL doeesnt have that kind of money to spend

i think boston, sf, angels, cubs, or dodgers are the most likely destinations

Did you just come up with a list off the top of your head? Bluewahoo's list tends to be highly accurate based upon the media reports.

    Re: A-rod to opt out...

I wonder what the asking price is? I really hope he doesnt get 30 million. Any team that would pay him that has lost their minds. Its hard to build a winner around 1 guy. The angels and cubs at least have other good players around him already. A team like the Giants would be making a Rangers like mistake. They couldnt win it all with Bonds who carried them on their backs for years. Arod wouldnt really make a difference. If the Yanks can get better pitching, they will be fine without him. The Marlins would be interesting but I think Cabrera and Ramirez there are already great on the left side of the infield. They could do so much more for less money. I think any team could really. 30 mill is just too much. You could add 3 10 million dollar players and be better off. Spreading out production is key to post season success. Its too easy to pitch around 1 player.

Like I said, the Cubs will not be pursuing him.

And I don't see him going to the NL.

Olney and Gammons were talking about it so they are in the mix but maybe not a serious contender in that.
